PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

Soon after receipt of Govt. allotment of different commodities of a particular month, the Collector, Jharsuguda reallocates the same among the different Blocks, Municipalities and N.A.C., as per card strength and directs the C.S.O. – cum – District Manager, OSCSC Ltd. Jharsuguda to purchase &  distribute the same to the different area through his agencies like Storage Agent and Retailers.

          The purchase price of different commodities from F.C.I. is as follows:-

          1.          Rice (Common) B.P.L.  : Rs. 565.00 per Quintal

          2           Rice (Antyodaya)       : Rs. 300.00 per Quintal

          3.          Wheat (APL)             : Rs. 634.00 per Quintal

          4.          Levy Sugar               : Central purchase by OSCSC Ltd.

          The consumer price of different commodities are as follows:-

          1.          Rice B.P.L.                : Rs. 6.30 per Kg.

          2.          Rice A.A.Y.               : Rs. 3.00 per Kg.

          3.          Wheat APL               : Rs. 7.00 per Kg.

          4.          Levy Sugar               : Rs. 13.50 per Kg.

          5.          Annapurna Rice         : Rs. Free of cost

          6.          K.Oil                       : Rs. 9.33 to 9.69 per litre

Scale of Ration

          1.          Rice B.P.L.  :     25 Kg. per card per month

          2.          Rice A.A.Y. :     35 Kg. per card per month

          3.          Wheat APL :     9.455 Kg per card per month for

                      APL families

          4.          Levy Sugar :     2 Kg. per card (BPL) families

          5.          K.Oil          :     4 Litres per card per month both

                       APL and BPL families

          6.          Annapurna Rice  : 10 Kg. per card free of cost

FAIR PRICE SHOP

          316 nos. of retailers are functioning in this district to deal with controlled commodities during the year 2005-06 (upto 30.04.05).  The details are furnished below:-

          The wholesale distribution of BPL rice, Annapurna Rice, Antodaya Anna Yojana Rice, Sugar and APL wheat in the district is made through private retailers.

          09 (nine) numbers of Storage Agents are functioning in this District in Five Blocks, two Municipalities and one N.A.C. The following is as follows:-

KEROSENE OIL

          A stock of 492 KL of Kerosene Oil is being alloted to this district per month under PDS.  The said stock is being lifted through 4 numbers of K.Oil Wholesalers and 5 nos. of K. Oil Sub-Wholesalers in different Blocks and ULBs for distribution to consumers through PDS retailers. 

ANNAPURNA YOJANA

          The scheme has been introduced w.e.f. April, 2000.  As per target of Govt., 914 numbers of beneficiaries have been selected in this district under the scheme. Q 91.40 of rice is being allotted by Govt. in this district in each month under the scheme. 10 Kg. of rice is given to each beneficiary on free of cost.

ANTYODAYA ANNA YOJANA

          This scheme has been launched in this district w.e.f. September, 2001.  According to target of Govt. 6200 numbers of beneficiaries have been selected in this scheme. 2170.00 Qtls. of rice is being allotted to this district by Govt. in every month 35 Kg. Of rice being distributed to teach beneficiary Rs. 3.00 per kg.

          Further Govt. have been given target for selection of 2360 nos. of beneficiaries under Antyodaya Anna Yojana in Jharsuguda district.
